Step 1: Application Form/Registration
Candidates must register for the desired program on the official AMU admission portal at amucontrollerexams.com by paying an application fee of INR 700 for most courses.

Admissions to AMU courses are based on scores from national-level examinations such as CUET, NATA, GATE, etc., or the university's entrance examination (AMUEE). Candidates must appear for the respective entrance examination according to their chosen courses.
Step 3: Counselling
AMU releases various Firm Lists/Merit Lists for all courses based on entrance examination scores. The university then conducts a counseling session for candidates listed in the Firm List/Merit List for seat allocation. During counseling, candidates can either block their seats to confirm admission or wait for the next round of counseling for their desired specialization.
Step 4: Physical Reporting and Submission of Admission Fee
Candidates who have accepted or blocked their seats during counseling must report physically to the allocated department or institute with the required documents. Admission is confirmed upon submission of all documents and the admission fee.

After qualifying for the entrance exam, candidates must undergo a counseling process, which will commence after the announcement of the AMU admission test results. Counseling will be conducted independently based on the candidates’ rankings.
